Water and Coffee Etiquette:
In Ottoman times, A cup of coffee was traditionally served to guests alongside a glass of water. If the guest drank the water before the coffee, it indicated hunger, prompting the host to prepare a meal. If the coffee was consumed before the water, it signaled satiation.

Red and Yellow Roses:
In Ottoman times, a yellow rose would be placed outside a house to inform passersby and neighbors of the need for quietness and to avoid disturbing an ill person inside. If a red rose was placed, it signified that a young woman of marriageable age was present, and suitors were welcome to propose marriage, while discouraging any indecent remarks near the house out of respect for her feelings.

Door Knockers:
During the Ottoman era, two knockers were placed on house doors, one small and one large. When the door was knocked with the small knocker, it signaled that a woman was at the door, prompting the lady of the house to answer. If the large knocker was used, it indicated a male visitor, and the man of the house would respond to welcome the guest.

Charity:
In Ottoman times, The wealthy class in Ottoman society made a point of giving charity without causing embarrassment to the poor. They would visit grocery stores and vegetable vendors, requesting the debt book and paying off debts anonymously. The recipients of the charity would find their debts erased without knowing the benefactor, preserving the dignity of the wealthy.

Sixty-Three Years Old:
In the Ottoman era, when elderly individuals above the age of 63 were asked about their age, they would often respond with deference and respect for the Prophet Muhammad by saying, "We have surpassed the limit, my son," rather than directly really their age.
